Sympathy Bible Verses

When a loved one is taken from us it hurts, a lot. But isn't it a comfort to know that our loved ones have not truly perished, they have been taken home to our Heavenly Father. It is a comfort still to know that He is with us through our suffering and loss. These Bible Verses are a perfect way to instill a sense of Heavenly peace to someone who greatly needs it through this time.

Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
*This wonderful Verse inspired the poem "Footprints" which can be found on our Biblical Poetry page

Isaiah 40:28-31
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary;  they shall walk and not faint

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,  as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
