Community Service and Fund-Raiser Bible Verses

As in the story of the Good Samaritan, God encourages us to aid our fellow man. Many Churches, Scouts, Clubs, and Organizations host fund-raisers or community service events to accomplish this God-given goal. Deuteronomy 10:17-18
17 For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes. 18 He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing.

Proverbs 22:9
A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.

Proverbs 29:7
The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern.

Proverbs 31:20
She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.

Matthew 6:3-4
3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
