Its less fattening than a Bake Sale! Craft fairs are becoming a more and more popular fund-raising project. People are more likely to buy an item, plus give an additional donation on top of it all.
This is a project that you can do solo, or you can gather volunteers from your group, and have lots of fun0making handmade greetings!
You can make gorgeously decorated cards, with or without a Bible Verse, and leave them blank inside. You can also create cards for several occasions, such and birthday and Christmas cards.
You can sell the cards individually or package them together if you wish. You are only limited by your imagination.
The proceeds of the sale can go to raise funds for your church, organization, or charity of your choice.

Community Outreach Projects
Many clubs and organizations have a community service factor. If your group is looking for a fun, unique, and creative community service project, why not create hand made greeting cards with one of these great projects!
Civil Service Cards:
Your club can create gorgeously uplifting thank you cards for Police, Firefighters, Teachers, or any other local "heroes" you choose.
Armed Services:
Fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters are fighting for our freedom, your club can create supportive cards to let them know that we have them in our prayers and hearts.
Missionaries:
Our fellow Sisters and Brothers who spread the word of God to those who don't yet know Him truly do good work in this world. What a wonderful act of community service to create and send prayer cards and greeting cards to them as an expression of fellowship and support
Hospitals and Hospices:
Your club's community service program could also include sending healing, inspiring, and encouraging greeting cards to those who may be suffering right now. Your prayers will go a long way with service of this nature as you create a lovely gift and keepsake for someone in need of a smile. Contact your local hospital or hospice for regulations.

Vacation Bible School and Youth Group Projects
If you are looking for an activity project rather than a pledge-drive, these are some great ideas to spark education and creativity.
Creating home made greeting cards inspires creative thought and can be challenging enough for older students. If your VBS season has a particular theme we will try to match Group Discount Kits to that theme if possible.
Bible Study:
Have each student choose a Bible Verse to use, then he or she can write an essay or tell about why that Bible Verse is important to them - this encourages each student to really put thought into the meaning of the Scripture and what it means to them. The Verse can either be printed out to paste on the card, or hand written by the students for a personal touch. Decorating the cards is a fun way to spend a day of fellowship for VBS students.
Penpal and Community Outreach
Students can make these cards for friends or family members; VBS faculty, or Christian penpals who can be found from various community pen pal groups. They can make cards to thank firefighters or police, the true "heroes" of our time.
Adopt A Missionary
If your church has active Missionaries, your students can Adopt-A-Missionary and send him or her these lovingly made greeting cards. This will give the students a wonderful opportunity to learn about the area where the Missionaries are, as well as the Holy work each Missionary is going.
Time Capsule
Your VBS group can also create cards to put in a Time Capsule to be opened at read at a later date. Time Capsules are fun projects for students to create as a way to tell the "future generation" all about life in the present, whether it's 1 year or even 5 years in the future! Making cards gives each student a chance to really personalize the Time Capsule, and it can give them an opportunity to create a heartfelt and creative greeting for a future student.

Start a Pledge Drive
Whether you need to raise funds for your organization, church group, youth ministry trip/camp, or for a charity, this is a wonderful way to get people involved!
This type of fund-raiser is a fun an interactive way to get a group of people to come together for a common goal. Here is all the information you will need to get started! You'll also find free download files for Volunteer Sign-up Sheets, Pledge Forms, Pledge Instructions, and Supply Lists. Don't forget, we offer Group Discounts on supply kits.
Essentially your group will collect a pledges amount of money per card created by volunteers, then the cards are sent out on behalf of your organization to the recipients of your choice.
Here's how it works:
Let's say you have 20 volunteers who gather 25 pledges of $1 per card, if they were to make 10 cards each, then each volunteer will collect $250, which raises a total of $5,000 for your organization, minus the cost of supplies.
Here are a few examples of Pledge Drives you can organize:
Example 1: Make supportive cards to send to the Armed Services as you raise money for your local organization.
Example 2: Make cheerful cards to send to the local Children's Hospital, Cancer Center, etc as you raise money for a relevant charity such as St. Jude's or the American Cancer Society.
Example 3: Make prayer cards for Missionary Groups as you raise money to help support their efforts or your local Church
Example 4: Have students volunteer to make cards to raise money for their youth group trip or youth missionary trip; these cards can be sent to the group of your choice whether hospital, armed services, or other relevant worthy cause.
Here are some simple steps to help get you started
Step 1: Determine the Project Scope
* Choose a cause such as your organization or charity
* Determine a time frame and goal for gathering pledges. A common time frame and goal is to allow for two weeks to collect pledges/donations, with a goal of at least 25-50 pledges per volunteer.
* Determine a time frame for completing the cards. Be realistic. Some organizations devote several hours each day over a chosen weekend or two; VBS and Youth Groups could devote a few hours each day or after school during the week
* Determine a time frame for collecting pledges. Be realistic. Most organizations allow for one week to collect all pledge funds.
Step 2: Gather Volunteers and Leaders.
* Determine a Group Leader or two, depending on the size of your effort.
* Encourage members of your organization or the general public to volunteer for the cause.
* Each volunteer will agree to Collect Pledges and Create Cards.
* Group Leaders will collect the cards and prepare them for shipping.
Step 3: Gather Pledges.
* Each volunteering member will collect pledges from his or her peer group or community.
* Pledges are per monetary donations per item pledged, in this case per card.
* Pledge Suggestion is $1-$5 per card created.
Step 4: Create Cards
* Make a fun interactive event of this as all volunteers gather in one place for one goal. Encourage a huddle-prayer before each event (if you have creation time spread over a weekend or a few days)
* Make sure to let volunteers know ahead of time if they are expected to provide their own scissors, glue sticks, or pens.
* Creation time should be within 3-6 hours, you don't want to burn out your volunteers
* Give the volunteers a daily creation goal for the time period.
* Plan a break mid-shift, for at least 15-30 minutes, to give volunteers a chance to check their progress, don't forget to say a prayer or peptalk.
* Encourage a party or pot luck at the very end of the event.
Step 5: Collect Cards and Pledges
* Group Leaders collect all the cards and Volunteer Pledge Forms.
* Prepare the cards to the mailed. Refer to the Mailing Information file below
* Volunteers will contact their Pledges with the total cards each made, they will then collect the pledged donations and submit each donation along with its respective Donator Pledge Form. Encourage each Volunteer to collect these within your specified time frame
* Once the Donations and Pledges are accounted for and the Cards are sent, Group Leaders are encouraged to send out an announcement to their Organization members, volunteers, and donators telling them of the good works they have been a part of. Feel free to give accounts of the cards made and money raised so they know what a good job they did.

Creative Challenge! Wallet Tag
This Creative Challenge is an great diy idea for a "two-for" craft, which means you get two crafts in one. Tags for scrapbooking and mini-scrapbooks are becoming very popular with crafters. It is fun to create and to collect these hand made tags. Typically they are small, but they can really be any size you wish.
This challenge is to create a wallet-sized tag to include in your card - that way whoever receives your card can remove the tag to collect. How fun would it be to not only receive a home made card, but to also have a keepsake to refer to whenever you need cheering up! How wonderful is it to know that you can give this to a friend, what a blessing to know that you can create such a gift for someone else.
Below are some examples of the types of tags you can create. Browse our Bible Verses or Christian Poetry for inspirational Scriptures to use if you wish. Like the examples below, you do not have to use a Verse but it would be a nice addition for a keepsake.

Footprints - A Christian Poem
This wonderful Christian poem was inspired by the Bible Verse, Deuteronomy 31:6. This poem beautifully illustrates the Word of God as He tells us our Lord will never leave our side
Footprints
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

An Angel on My Shoulder - a Christian poem
This popular Christian poem was inspired by the Holy Bible. As Psalms 91:11-12 tells us, God sends angels to us. This poem is a wonderful to share with a friend of loved one to remind them that they are in good hands.
An Angel on my Shoulder
There's an angel on my shoulder,
Though I've never heard her sing,
I know she keeps me safe each day
And close beneath her wing.
My angel does not play a harp
or rest in clouds all day.
She's much too busy guarding me,
To keep me from harm's way.
She rejoices in my life's success
And weeps when I'm in pain.
She picks me up when I have failed
And helps me try again.
Tonight I'll say a prayer for her,
And thank the Lord above
For sending me an angel
To lead me with her love.

Though I've never heard her sing,
I know she keeps me safe each day

The Lord is My Shepherd Psalm 23:1-6
This Bible passage is one of the most popular prayer verses. This poem tells us that if we follow the Lord and trust in Him to guide us, as sheep to their shepherd, we will not be led astray; and no matter how hard or dark the path may be, the Lord will deliver us safely. Such an inspiring prayer to share with Friends and loved ones!
The Lord is My Shepherd
Psalm 23:1-6
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters,
3 He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness in His name.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

The Lord, My Refuge and Protection Psalm 91:1-16
This is by far one of my favorite Bible passages. This is definitely one that I read at night as a prayer. These comforting Bible Verses let's us know that we don't have to be afraid because the Lord will protect us and send angels to keep us. This passage can be shared in a diy greeting either as a whole or as individual Verses.
The Lord, My Refuge and Protection
Psalm 91:1-16
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.”
3 For He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence.
4 He will cover you with His feathers,
and under His wings you will take shelter; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place the Most High, who is my refuge
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your house.
11 For He will give His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they will lift you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
14 “Because he holds fast to Me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows My name.
15 When he calls to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.”

A Time For Everything - Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
This Scriptural poem is taken straight from the Bible. This poem is one of the most popular Bible Verse poems, having inspired a pop music song that moved a nation. Sometimes when life is overwhelming it is important to remember to remember that all will be well in the fullness of time, just be patient. This poem is that wonderful reminder
A Time For Everything
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
1"For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to take down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to scatter stones, And a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
7 A time to tear, and a time to mend;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time for war, and a time for peace."

Serenity Prayer
The Serenity Prayer is arguably the most popular Christian poem. This all inspiring poem reminds us that God is in control. What a happy thought! This poem has inspired recovery and healing in countless individuals. As Proverbs 16:24 tells us, "pleasant words" can heal.
Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it.
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
Amen.

Sympathy Bible Verses
When a loved one is taken from us it hurts, a lot. But isn't it a comfort to know that our loved ones have not truly perished, they have been taken home to our Heavenly Father. It is a comfort still to know that He is with us through our suffering and loss. These Bible Verses are a perfect way to instill a sense of Heavenly peace to someone who greatly needs it through this time.
Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

Isaiah 40:28-31
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
